N.C. to A.Z. and back (Day 4)

What an AMAZING day we had. Charles, Steve, and myself went to the Grand Canyon. Words cannot begin to describe what we saw. It was just spectacular. We started off at the IMAX watching a movie about the Canyon. If this movie makes it to an IMAX near you, GO. Very impressive. Then we got back in the van and started our drive around the Canyon. Well, at least the little part we could get to. I didn't realize the Canyon is around 277 Miles long and at some parts it is 18 miles wide. The river at the base is over 2,000ft above sea level, and the top of the Canyon where we were was about a mile higher than that.





There were many amazing views of the Canyon. It was funny, you could move just a few feet and the whole view would change. It was one of the most amazing things I have seen.







I did a little tree climbing while we were there as well. Hey, gotta keep my skills up.




We visited Hermits Rest.





We learned about Colonel Claude Hale Birdseye who was one of the first explorers to document his journey through the canyon.




I even made a new friend.






We learned about the dangers of going where you aren't supposed to.



But of course I never listen.






I can't think of a better way to spend a day. I hope to come back again some day and travel down the river and do some camping. That's all for now my friends.
